Custom Hardwood Desktops, Built to Order

Armani Fine Woodworking builds solid wood desktops for home offices, commercial workspaces, design studios, built-ins, and sit-stand desk applications.

Choose wide plank or butcher block construction, with options for wire grommets, softened corners, eased edges, and other project-specific details.

Each desktop is made as a long-term hardwood surface, not a laminate panel or disposable work top. Every surface is glued up from boards selected and arranged by hand, one panel at a time. See how we build them. Species selection, finish, support, environment, and installation method all matter.

Black Walnut

A black walnut desktop is the most requested we offer. The heartwood runs chocolate brown with straight, even grain, mellowing and lightening with age and light. It is the traditional choice because it is timeless — a neutral brown that fits any style, and still fits when the room around it changes.

Rustic Walnut

Rustic walnut is the same species with the character left in — knots, mineral streaking, and the pale sapwood most mills cut away. Nothing about the surface is uniform, and that is the point. Choose it for drama, contrast, variation.

White Oak

White oak runs light tan to pale brown with a strong, open grain and growth rings that read clearly across the face. Choose plain-sawn for cathedral figure, rift-sawn for the straightest, most uniform lines, or quarter-sawn for straight grain with ray fleck.

Hard Maple

Hard maple is the brightest surface on this page — pale cream, tight grain, almost no figure. In a light, modern room it recedes and reflects. And it's hard enough to resist the marks a desk picks up first — where your wrists rest, where a chair arm hits the edge, where things get slid across it.

American Cherry

Cherry is the warm one — pinks and oranges under a fine, even grain, and a century of Craftsman interiors behind it. Set against the grays and sages popular now, it warms the whole room.

Calico Hickory

Hickory is the hardest wood we build with, and the only pale one with real figure in it. Blond through tan, with grain that stays active across the surface. It reads mountain — lodge, ranch, cabin — in a lighter wood than the look usually calls for.

Sapele
Mahogany

Sapele is the exotic — a West African mahogany, reddish brown, striped and iridescent, shifting as you move past it. Tropical mahogany has been the wood of serious desks for three centuries; this is the modern alternative.

How to Choose a Desktop Style

Designed for Real Workspaces

A hardwood desktop needs to do more than look good in a photo. It has to support daily use, fit the space correctly, and work with the environment around it.

Species selection, thickness, finish, support, and installation method all matter. We help match the desktop to the application, whether it is a simple writing surface, a sit-stand desk top, a built-in office surface, or a commercial workspace.

Need help choosing?

Choosing the right wood species, construction style, and finish depends on how your desk will be used. If you are comparing options, working around unusual dimensions, or planning a multi-piece project, we can help you choose the best approach before you order.
