Walnut End Grain Countertops in Historic Bungalow, West Hollywood

Armani Fine Woodworking produced the end grain walnut countertops for this historic bungalow in West Hollywood, designed by Studio Keeta. The kitchen pairs saturated tile, painted cabinetry, and original architectural character with a solid wood surface that feels substantial without flattening the room’s personality.

The end grain walnut brings depth, pattern, and a working-surface quality to the kitchen. Finished with tung oil, the countertops retain a natural feel and can be maintained over time with the right care. In a compact, highly detailed space, the wood adds function and visual weight while supporting the home’s layered material palette.

This project was featured in The New York Times.
