The Traditional Calico Hickory Edge-Grain Cutting Board

The Traditional is a classic edge-grain calico hickory cutting board designed for daily prep, slicing, serving, and general kitchen use. Each board features clean lines, balanced proportions, and carefully finished hardwood surfaces with bold natural contrast. It is a strong choice for home cooks, entertainers, and anyone looking for a hickory cutting board with a practical everyday profile and a more dramatic hardwood appearance.

Edge-Grain Construction

Edge-grain construction uses the long grain of the wood as the cutting surface, creating a clean linear appearance and a durable board for regular kitchen use. This construction style is well suited for daily prep, slicing, serving, and general cutting tasks. The grain pattern gives each board a natural hardwood character, with variation from piece to piece.

Calico Hickory Hardwood

Calico hickory is known for its dramatic color variation, strong grain contrast, and natural character. Each calico hickory Traditional board may include light and dark tones, bold grain movement, mineral marks, and individual variation from piece to piece. This species is a strong choice when the board is intended to have a more active, material-forward presence.

Available Options

The Traditional is offered in set sizes with optional details to suit how you plan to use or gift the board. Available options may include a juice groove, feet, monogramming, logo engraving, petroleum-free butcher block oil, and oil-and-conditioner care kits. These options allow the board to be customized for daily prep, serving, counter display, gifting, or general kitchen use.

Use & Care

Use The Traditional for daily prep, slicing, serving, and general kitchen tasks. Wash by hand only, dry promptly, and avoid soaking or dishwashers. Recondition the board as needed with food-safe butcher block oil or conditioner to help preserve the wood and maintain its finish.

Please Note

Because hardwood is a natural material, variations in color, grain, figure, mineral marks, and edge-grain pattern are expected. These natural differences are part of the character of each edge grain calico hickory cutting board and may vary from the photos shown.
