It all starts with choosing the right wood and finishing it to perfection. Known for its rich chocolate tones, versatility when paired with warm, cool and vibrant colors, and its strong organic character, Walnut is one of the most desirable and sophisticated North American hardwoods. While Walnut is commonly known for its brown tones, it can also showcase some purple or red undertones.

Our process:

We hand select this kiln-dried Black Walnut lumber and custom arrange it to create a beautiful and elegant countertop that will be a perfect centerpiece to show off in your kitchen.

All of our countertops are made from full length strips, also known as staves, of hardwood, which show off the wood’s beautiful continuous grain throughout the length of the countertop, and don’t rely on short pieces or blended style tops.

Because all of our products are made to order, you can choose between a variety of food-safe and food-grade finish options to suit your intended use.

Please feel welcome to reach out to one of our staff members with any project drawings or templates and we would be happy to provide a tailored quote for installation-ready pieces.

Have additional questions? Our Sitemap contains a variety of pages dedicated to teach you everything you need to know about care, installation, maintenance, quotes, shipping and more.

*Please Note: Due to the natural characteristics of hardwoods, including grain, texture, and color, we cannot guarantee an exact match to samples or online photos. Slight variations in color are normal and add depth and character to the product. Other factors such as age and exposure to light can further alter the appearance of the piece.

We highly recommend ordering a sample of your preferred species and finish as the final tone of the wood will differ across finish options.

Walnut Butcher Block

Written by Mark S on May 29, 2015

Walnut Butcher Block It's not often you make such a large customized purchase on the internet from a location that's nearly 1500 miles away. However, after speaking with Joe on the phone a few times I felt more than comfortable and placed my order. Joe was extremely informative answering my many questions and discussing measurements. I was eager to receive the piece and Joe had it out ahead of schedule. The block we ordered is 38" X 74" X 2" and is absolutely stunning to look at. The wood grain is naturally brought out by the quality work that Joe and his team create in their workshop. It's a centerpiece in the kitchen and every visitor can't help but immediately go up and touch it. The shipping crate is very heavy and protective. It's a necessary evil that makes certain the block is protected during shipping. Depending on the size you will definitely need two people to unpackage and move into position. Design note: most stone counter-tops such as granite and marble are made in 3cm thickness. 3cm is about 1 3/16 inches. If you really want to set off your butcher block counter/island splurge for the 2" or thicker block. The contrasting size makes for an impressive appearance. Thanks for an amazing purchasing experience and product Joe! All the best, Mark S. in NJ

Walnut Countertops

Written by Carlos and Lynda on May 07, 2015

After watching hundreds of "Property Brothers" shows on HGTV, my wife Lynda and I decided to buy a fixer-upper and do our own remodel (we must have been locos!?). We knew we wanted our kitchen to incorporate different textures and materials and had decided that we wanted a butcher block counter top for the kitchen island. We researched and researched and researched and the only places we found in Texas that could deliver a high quality product required us to cash in our 401Ks to be able to do it. We were about to give up, when something amazing happened; we found Joe Armani. And even though Joe's shop was out of State and we were leery at first, we took a leap of faith and decided to go for it (How could such gorgeous product(s) be so reasonably priced? Shipping included! It had to be a scam, we thought....) At first we had Joe help us put together and design a custom Walnut counter top 120 x 26 x 1 1/2 for the island. He was very helpful from the get go and was there to answer all our emails and questions. The product was amazing! Immediately thereafter, we placed a second order for another custom made counter top for our bar. This second project was a little more involved, but Joe was there to help every step of the way. In fact, Joe would not make the cuts on this second piece until I'd gone back and take measurements a first, second, third, fourth and fifth time. By the way, mounting and installing the counter tops was not difficult at all. The second piece was just as stunning as the first piece! Now, our neighbors, want my wife and I to come over their homes and help them re-design their kitchens. We are super happy with the way everything turned out. Just be aware that Joe ships his "masterpieces" in crates and these crates can be very, very heavy. You will need help loading up the crates onto your truck or trailer, unless the delivery is made straight to your home (I learned my lesson after having them delivered to my office). Once the crates are emptied, two adults can easily install the counter tops. Sign us, Very, very happy in Brownsville, Texas. Lynda and Carlos.
